On Sunday, a big group of people celebrated a very special occasion. Miss Rachel Krems and Mr. Tanner Wright's Baby-Que.

Rachel, like few other people I've met, is an eternal flame of kindness. One example of this is how she greets another person - one could have been gone for 15 minutes, walk back into the room, and still get the same pleasant, "Hey Dan!" as if she's seeing you for the first time in days.

She's always ready to listen and jump in to help wherever necessary. She sacrifices a lot for the sake of creating a the best space possible at Waterfront Hall, and cares deeply about the future of Wheeling and its people.

As we were getting ready to leave the party on Sunday, I expressed to Rachel how wonderful it was for so many of us be together again - without the stress of the workplace. And how she, maybe more than anyone else, has the ability to still bring us all together.

On more than once occasion Sunday, I shut my eyes as we all lounged on the hillside and in the lake, just listening to everyone talking intimately with one another. I reflected on how lucky I felt to have this community of people that are all trying to do their very best in our shared project and in our respective lives. And thought about how everyone is rubbing off on one another, bringing a greater richness, depth, and meaning to our existence.
